Reverse bucket list

The bucket list is all about writing down the things you want to do before you kick the bucket (skydiving, touring the Great Pyramids of Giza, etc.). But it might also be helpful to have a Reverse Bucket List.
Because as time sashays on, it becomes clearer that some of the dreams that have lurked in the back of your mind since high school are never going to happen.
You're never going to become the world-famous lead singer of a Kiss tribute band.
Or a Nicaraguan freedom fighter.
You're not going to marry Pam Anderson. And/or Brad Pitt.

You're not going to join the NHL, the Joffrey Ballet or a NASCAR pit crew.
You're not even going to win the Vermont Wife-Carrying contest.

See how freeing it is to not have all those old aspirations cluttering up your head? What else should go on your Reverse Bucket List?

I would think that the reverse list is a list of things you'll ultimately do that you shouldn't, like Oedipus sleeping with his mother.

I was thinking that a Reverse Bucket List would be a list of things you wanted to do AFTER you kick the bucket.
My list is pretty much one item long - I have long-standing, commonly- discussed plans to haunt a particualrly squeamish friend of mine. She's terribly afraid of ghosts (and similar) but I'M not especially scary, so if I show up rattling chains or what-not, it shouldn't be such a big deal. More fun than scary, at least.

Not gonna play catcher for the San Francisco Giants. No one-night stand with Cybil Shepherd. No chance to write a Warner Bros. cartoon with a Carl Stalling-tribute score by me. Probably won't expand on the list of foreign countries I've visited (two). I'll never kiss that girl I wanted to kiss from the day I met her. Scratch writing a song with Billy Preston. Doubt I'll live to see high-speed rail between San Francisco and L.A. I won't complete a marathon or break a four-minute mile.
Kinda gratifying to find that my list is so small. The rest, I don't want to do or haven't done yet.

Wait, are you trying to tell me that nobody here ever wanted to join the circus?
And that it's only been a few months since you changed your mind, because suddenly, in a moment of clarity, you realized that joining the circus would force you to spend even more time with clowns than you do now?

Once you hit the mainland, you could go from Canada to Mexico without even getting out of your car. And Hawaii's not that far from Japan.
[nq:1]I won't complete a marathon[/nq]
Hey, this could still happen. Especially if you're talking about completing a Star Trek movie marathon. You might have a facial tic when it's all over, but it will have been worth it.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one here who has joined the circus.

I dated a lion-tamer's daughter.

Bet you only kissed her on the cheek.
