Could you please check my sentences with the word sagacious in them?

From what I have found "sagacious" means to have foresightedness, sound judgement, to make good decisions. Is this word used more in refrence to future events?

Only sagacious people could have foreseen the conflict exploding into bloodshed.

Ten years ago his sagacity led him to invest heavily into real estate.

The sagacious officer, weighing all the circumstances, ordered his troops to advance and led them one more time to a victory.

How else could this word be used?

Thank you

Hope

They all look good to me, Hope.  Googling will likely produce a host of examples for the sagacious student.

Could you please tell me what is the difference between "sagacious" and "perspicacious"?

Thank you

Hi.  Sagacious means foresite or wise judgement.  You can figure out what's going because you have a sharp eye and see "into" things.  Perspicacious is clear-sighted and able to figure out what's going on.  The words are quite similar, but I think the difference is the fact that sagacious indicates foresight.  You're thinking ahead, not just clearly examining what's going on at the time.  Hope that helps!Idea [I]

Michael, your explanation was very helpful!  However, I do not know if I am using it correctly.Could you please check my sentences ?

If I had you perspicacity, I would not have to read the same story three times to understand the main character's internal conflict.

Being a perspicacious person, he comprehended her intentions before she finished her story.

Not even a perspicacious person could understand what they are fighting about.

Years of experience, acquired knowledge, and patience helped her become a perspicacious doctor.

Many thanks

Hope
