First of all, Golden, the 'Sati' is not practiced any more in India. I agree that 'Sati' was practiced in India several centuries ago, but not now. There might be one or two sporadic incidents of ‘Sati’ in India. So, just because these one or two incidents, one shouldn't brand India as a country that follows 'Sati'. As per the law, whether in India or in any other countries, people have rights to promote their lives, but don't have any rights to end their lives. If they do, it is an 'attempt to suicide' and they will be kept behind bars.
