Does 'save one's skin' mean 'save one's life'? Is it originated from  the history of American Indians' scalping white people?

Thanks.

Hi,

Does 'save one's skin' mean 'save one's life'? Yes.

Is it originated from  the history of American Indians' scalping white people? I don't know the origin, but I very much doubt that it comes from that.

Perhaps it originates from people having Botox injections? ha-ha!

Best wishes, Clive

Har har.(I learned this from the comic book Calvin And Hobbes- usually an answer to something you don't agree with.)

Hi,

Yes. You can learn a lot from Calvin and Hobbes.
