Hi!

What are the differeces bewteen using "seem" and "seem to be?

For example:

1. It seems to be Ok.

2. It seems Ok.

3. It sounds great!

4. It sounds to be great.

Thanks all for your reply.

Your Examples 3 and 4 do not use "seem" or "seem to be".
Would you like to rephrase the question?

"seem to be" is the usual form when a noun follows.

"sounds to be" is not used.

I made the mistake.

I thought "seem" and " sound" are linking verbs.  Forget the sentences with "sound"

Can I say  that it seems ok or it seems to be ok.

"It seems ok" and "it seems to be ok" both seem ok to me, Lynn3.

Hello Lynn3

I think so. Thinking through various examples, I can't detect a difference. But maybe other members will find one!
