1) You'd rather offend a gentleman than a flunky, as Chinese saying goes.
2)it's unwise to stir up a nest of hornets.
3) Never mess with petty minds.
If you feel one is boring, please point it out.

1) 'We would rather offend a gentleman than a flunky', as
the
Chinese saying goes. Have I changed the intended meaning, Jobb?-- 'we' includes the speaker, which is more diplomatic.
2) 'It is unwise to stir up a nest of hornets.' A common saying in English also.
3) 'Never mess with petty minds.' This one I love.
I like 'em all.
