What does 'sent her off home' mean? Walked her to my door and bid farewell? Possibly.
But it is also possible that you dismissed her peremptorily. Maybe you said 'Go home now!'

You wouldn't normally speak to an adult in this way, or even a child for whom you did not feel any responsibility.
