:,) I need help and I'm really grateful for any comment on my analysis of the following sentences:
S P
main cl. obj. nphr. defining relative cl. pphr. nphr.(det.=specifier, noun)
[As she came in] [she saw two men] [who were standing [in [the garden.]]]
Many who where there said he was trying to paint a false of what they were
doing, so that he could win the game.
I know the second sentences consist of relative clauses but I don't know where to beginn with my analysis. I mean e.g. shall I divide the sentence at first into clauses( main/suboridnate) then analyse the clauses (defining/non-defining rel) after that to divide the clause into phrases, finally analyse the phrases for their syntactic function????
As you already recognised I need realy help, Chrisi from Austria
