I have 4 sentences which are incorrect, but I can't figure out how to explain to a student WHY they are incorrect.  If someone can help me, I would really appreciate it.

1.  What you do yesterday?

2. Why didn't you close her the window?

3. Do no you be unhappy!

4. Do they be unhappy?

Thanks!

Hi,

I suggest that you begin by explaining or reviewing how to make the Simple Past and Simple Present tenses, looking first at statements and then at questions. If your student does not have a clear grasp of that, you will just get a constant stream of errors.

Then you can deal with the other points later.

Best wishjes, Clive
