Hello, 

I am not sure whether these two sentences make sense in term of grammar and semantics.
Can you give me a hand with checking them
Thank you for your help.

1.It is better for people to understand the characters and values of a society not by observing the way its people look and dress but by the way its people act.

2. It is both people’s outward appearance and dress style that have little to do with their society’s value system.

3.When interviewees dress smart and have a neat face, they have more confidence to show their capacity for this job.

4.What people should put on is dependent on what occasion they attend or what kind of job they do..

5.The different stages of Taiwan’s economic development show that the traits of its people are noted for diligence, aggression and ambition.

6.The majority of people participated in the political reform movement against totalitarian government for the sake of political freedom and human rights.

1.It is better to understand the characters and values of a society by observing not the way its people look and dress but by the way its people act. ("For people" is redundant here).

2. Both people's outward appearance and dress style have little to do with their society’s value system. (The use of a cleft sentence sounds awkward).

3. When interviewees dress smart and make up their face neatly, they will have more confidence to show their capacity for this job.


4. What people should put on is dependent on what occasion they are dressing for and what kind of job they are doing.

5.The different stages of Taiwan's economic development show that its people should be noted for diligence, aggression and ambition.

6.The majority of the people participated in the political reform movement against the totalitarian government for the sake of political freedom and human rights.
