Can you give me a hand with checking them
Thank you for your help.

1. Making any suitable law has to take many factors into account. Besides, laws should be so flexible that they can conform to the need of new trend, environment, and circumstance.

2. This event made Taiwan’s legislators amend/alter/change the portion of business laws for the sake of the long-term economic development.

Hi,

1. Law-makers must take mnay many factors into account. Besides, laws should be flexible enough that they can conform to the needs of new trends and circumstances, and to the needs of the environment.

2. It was not until the Enron scandal in 2002 that Taiwan’s legislature was forced to rethink the current business laws that fail to prevent cunning entrepreneurs from embezzling company funds and preparing false accounting statements. This event made Taiwan’s legislators amend this area of business law for the sake of long-term economic development.

Which verb amend/alter/change can be suitable in this sentence? 'Amend' has a suggestion of 'improve'.

Best wishes, Clive
