This has been eating me alive the last few days: is it correct to say, "If i were to tell you"?
I think its supposed to be was but many people say were. I am pretty confused, big thanks to the one who helps meSmile [:)]

'If I were to tell you' is correct. If you search this site for threads on 'subjunctive' you'll find a lot of explanations.

And if you search Google, you'll find a lot of 'was'.  That doesn't mean that Nona isn't right; rather, it means that many people don't express it correctly.
