I have made some transofmations and I do not know if they are "ok". Some of them I cannot figure out. Anyone help?

(fear) use afraid that there

(off) use gone off

(short) use always short of

I did my best to finish by midnight. - you've changed the form from 'they'.

(escaped) use escaped.

Your other answers before the escape question are correct.

James realised that he was not cut out to be an architect.

They chose not to drive because they were afraid that there would be too much snow.

I’m sick of that programme; I’ve watched it too often. (off)
I went off that programme; I've watched it too often.
