In this sentence, is the word home an adverbial or object? This is from an exercise in Collins Cobuild's Student's Grammer. I think it should be an object but the answer key says it is an adverbial.

We all went home.

Thanks.

Best wishes,
Ernest

It's an adverb (of place).
________

An object is something acted upon by the verb.

We all demolished the home makes home an object.  Something is being done to the home.

We all went home doesn't mean that we all went it.  You can't go a thing.  It makes no sense to go a thing.  It's like sleep.  You can't sleep a thing either.
