Ship, send and deliver?

What's difference between ship, send and deliver in the setting of mailing service?
More specifically, how to understand these:

1. This order will be shipped on 1st January 2008.

2. This order will be sent on 1st January 2008.

3. This order will be delivered on 1st January 2008.

Both mean the goods have been despatched to a destination.  "Shipped" is more generally used for large size despatches which require special documents. "Sent" is just that something has been despatched. delivered means that the goods have arrived at their desitnation and have been received.
