Re: Reply the addition of drain pipes

Referring to your verbal site instruction dated 12 Nov 2005 concerning to the additional drain pipes for the air conditioning units, the installation problem of the drain pipe have been solved with main contractor. The material for the drain pipes have been kept in stock after liaison with our supplier.

On the other hand, the installation of drain pipes are not included in our contract. In order to keep the tight progress, the installation will be commenced since a written confirmation or instruction for the additional works have been issued to us.

the installation will commence (why use active voice, the installation cannot be commenced by itself.)

But i still misunderstand.

Ex. An installation is completed  (passive voice)

      An installation will be proceeded (passive voice)

 

Are the sentenances correct in voice?

      An installation will be proceeded (passive voice) No. Some verbs can not be used in the passive. 'An installation will proceed' is fine.

English is fun, isn't it?
