What makes you think anyone has been brainwashed? Who by? Surely all young people aren't that stupid. Please explain. Obviously China and Taiwan must resolve this problem.

I wouldn't make up this story, brainwashing education is everywhere.. almost.. Do you believe education is always correct, well.. to me is not. Back to the point, I'm living with a Taiwan friend of age about 17, her mom told me when she was young, she learnt many things about how bad China was. And if one writes many offensive phrases towards Chinese government in composition, one is most probably to get a higher marks for that...She told me personally that she once thought China was what the school had taught, however now she is travelling around the world and learnt the truth between China and Taiwan. What made them separated.

Young people aren't stupid.. but naive. Taiwan introduce anti-mainland education to them in a very young age of about 7 or 8.. the rage would take root in them. So no matter in the future how the fact is, they'll obstinately refuse them..

China welcomes Taiwanese to travel to mainland without following a tour guide, trade, do business and even settling there. However for a Chinese to go to Taiwan, one cann't act freely as he wanted to. One has to be with the tour guide, or specially invited by some authorities, or for the purpose of education.

Hei! Guy!
I think you made a big mistake.
Taiwan is not the conoly of China.
It was a part of China in the past time.
Taiwan is a part of China now.
And it will be a part of China in the future.
No one can separate a child from his mother!
China will not let it go!

The Taiwanese should be aloud to decide for themselves whether or not they want to be a part of China. As for the Taiwanese standing up to China, maybe if we sell them enough arms. The U.S. is too occupied with Iraq and the "Axis of Evil" to get involved militarily and China knows it (besides, we need China's influence over North Korea). If China wants Taiwan, China will take it.

Mephorium,

aloud = allowed? He was allowed by the teacher to read his book aloud.

i think that Taiwan is just a part of China, no one can change the truth.since Zhengchenggong's time, people in mainland is always expecting to reunion with this pitiable child. this child was be invaded when it was very young. so many of the decsendant even didn't know the history correctly. they just think that if Taiwan is a country, it would develop more quickly than it was part of China. but have you ever thought about those elderly? have you asked them what they were thinking of. it is not a easy question to answer, but i think that all the people around the world should know about this embarrassing history of china, and no one can deny it, or even object it. it is here, it is just in front of us. any one of the youth should face the problem positively, not just read what was written on your regional books. pleast think of the problem seriously and postively!!!!!

Hi Jennyji,

I don'y quite understand your standpoint.
Are you saying that Taiwan should stand alone as a mature and developed country, or that China should have control over it?
