I am glad you understand that at last. I am not an expert on international politics, I just read news both in English and Chinese for language purpose everyday.

As for your last comment, I do not know what it exactly means, but I can sense it is not good.

Anyway, i do not think you lose anything. Because when talking about Taiwan or Tibet and China, you were just talking about international politics here, but for me I have to defense my motherland.

 I see....

Ok, you win, you are the expert on international polictics. The only comment I have is "one more added to the chucKoo's nest"?

Osee,
This is a simple, yet patriatic statement, and I see it in the same light in that regard. But seriously
I don't think we can do much should one day China really get into a military confrontation with US.
I have my own opinions about the reunitification of Taiwan and I think it will happen in a peaceful and
harmonious fashion, without bloodsheds. Sure, the emerging China is on the US military radar but
considered as a bleep and not enough yet to be a serious threat. We have to be careful of the news
source we watch for news and understanding of world events.
I can't trust everything I watch on TV or stuff I read on the newspapers. Some are so tainted with bias and agendas that
the news is skewed.
About the my last comment. It was an old sarcastic joke.

God bless you [personal attack is removed by mod].

Do natvie Americans want their land to be part of the United States? Or did they voluntarily relocate their settlements several times on end for the welfare of the Anglo-Americans? Especially during 1980s, I believe by that time the U.S. should have proudly announced itself as a civilized country.

Taiwan Issue is not a problem between the two sides, but between the United States and China.

Hello generalfeldmarschall,

<<<>>>Taiwan Issue is not a problem between the two sides, but between the United States and China.

I am not sure what your origin is, where you live and what your agendas are, but when you made this statement, I presumed you know something about China and its history.  If you can’t support your statement with facts, please do not make a foolish statement such as this. How can you say Taiwan is U.S.’s business with China? Taiwan has long been a part of China, there should be no doubt.  If you need a lesson in Taiwan history, here it is:

The conflicts between the 2 shores are not the businesses of U.S.. They are strictly  internal affairs of the Chinese people. Several presidents before the newly elected president Ma had rallied an independence ideology to the Taiwanese people but stopped by the thread of military intervention from the mainland Chinese government. U.S. of course does not want to see the reunification as this will create a bigger and strong China. I don’t believe for a moment that China has any intent to make U.S. an enemy or vise versa. Taiwan is an extremely militarily strategically valuable island which is very beneficial to the U.S. Naval power.  But that does not in any way qualify your statement.

What I actually mean is that, it is exactly the United States who prevents China from getting Taiwan back. Superficially, taiwan issue is 'China internal business', as you have pointed out; yet without the support from the White House, China should have been able to annex the island any moment they want. The United States does nothing more than orally acknowledge the 'one China policy' as they constantly give aid to Taiwan through selling weapons or political support.

Furthermore, why Chinese government claims again and again that Taiwan problem is their internal affair? it is just because intervention from outside world, especially from the United States, is hampering the unification of China.

By the time Taiwan problem becomes really an internal affair, I do believe China should have got it back, since 'internal' is a word in nature means Taiwan is a part of China.

And whether Taiwan is of significant strategial value to U.S. navy is questionable and even so, I still believe the intervention from the U.S. is mainly a political one.

my dear goodman, the argument in your link is not quite convincing as it stands.

China government, since 1949, never bothers to get back Taiwan hastily.

When talking with the then secretary of state, Henry Kissinger, Mao Tse Tung said that Taiwan is by no means a big problem, and China can wait for one hundred years for that problem with ease; in his mind, international affairs matter more. Such policy is employed even today as president Hu reiterates that China will do anything for the welfare of Taiwan people should Taiwan be a part of China, and that China will not resort to force unless Taiwan seek independence, which is absolutely intolerable.
