Each should not come under another. They should be combined. And each country has the right to decide how they are being combined.

Anyhow, Taiwan and the mainland issue is outside of your question. It is a particular issue, not a general thing like you asked about.

Just like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, it is a beatiful story. But it could be said like this for fun: A woman and Seven Men living together in Forest. This title implies a total different story.

“Hi all

I don't know much at all about the existing arguments on this issue, but on the face of it, don't you reckon it's absurd that a democratic country 'should' come under a Communist regime?

Truths are hard to prove, rumors are easy to make.

The Taiwanese point of view you mentioned should be the same of the western point of view about this issue, which might have brainwashed you for years. Now it is the time that you know the mainland point of view. Aristocles, as one person, can only tell you one point of view which he believes, just like you only trust the western point of view.

“ Thanks, Aristocles, for the mainland point of view. Can you tell us the Taiwanese point of view? (Perhaps including the Japanese involvement)?

There is obvious prejudice in your expression. How do you define "democratic country" or "communist regime" if you have not actually been living in that situation?
We here are not discussing whether a government should been subject to another government, or who is better and superior, the so-called "democratic country" or "communist regime", or who is more evil, the "communist" or the "imperialist". We are discussing a nation's unification and splitting.
If you think China's unity means people of region would be stripped of democracy, all I can say is you underestimate Chinese's wisdom too much.

It's really ridiculous for Chinese to say that Taiwanese are brainwashed, since China is notorious for its limited freedom of speech and information.

Can you tell me where you can have unlimited freedom of speach and information? Can you freely access millitary information in Taiwan?
In the mainland of China, we can make any reasonable speeches except for like "putting down the government." Does your "government" allows you to say that publically?
