If someone burry something in the snow, and then he took it out from the snow.

Can I say he "plough away the snow by hand"?

We don't usually use plough with snow unless there is a mechanical snow plough involved. Some alternatives for you: cleared the snow; scooped the snow away; dug out the ?;
