Hello everyone,

I'm confused about the meaning of "so that" and hope to see your help.
In the following sentence below, I understood that as "the avartar can do anything, therefore it creates its own life rather than follows the settled rules."

Is my understanding alright?
Or
should the meaning of that part be as "In order that it creats its own life rather than follows the settled rules, your avartar is free to do anything."

Which one is correct understanding grammatically?

If you know the correct usage of "so that" and "so... that", would you explain some here for me?

Thank you very much!

The sentence is:

This game is different from those games because your avatar is free to do anything so that it creates its own life rather than follows the settled rules.
