Yeah Guest,

if the asking man is you then it is you.

the questioner is the person, as he's indicating to his own son and tells that this man's father is my father's son. So it's clear that he is indicating to himself.

cheers

My father told me this when I was very young.  Unfortunately, he died before he could tell me the answer.   Anyone know?

I posted the riddle, but unfortunately the person that told me the answer died before he could tell me the answer.  The only answer I can come up with is "the speaker" also.

yes..the man is my son...

because my father's son is my husband

therefore my husband is a father to the man who becomes our SON!

ok wait ..

i'd like to clear..are you referring to the MAN's father or the man's FATHER?

anyway i think i answered both...

supposing i am a woman: the only person possible to be my dad's son without being my brother or sister is my HUSBAND (my father's son) and for the line 'this man's father", of course it will automatically mean that "this man" is his son, thus becomes my son, too!

now it's clear...hehe!

by the way i enjoyed the riddle thanks!
