1. What is wrong with the underlined parts?

Writing about people whose circumstances were deplorable, Dickens used the novel to protest social conditions in Victorian England.

Unfortunately, the opening of the new library complex would be delayed for several months because of construction.

Professor Chen repeated her point that the hero, if given the chance to relive the moment, would do it.

Many thanks again!

I don't suppose they say why they're wrong?  Don't they offer a "correction" of any kind?

It would be interesting to see what the authors of the book thought. Smile
