Hi,

I am not sure whether which tense should I use:

1. David show interests and smile at me

2. David showed interests and smiled at me

Which is correct? 1 or 2?

Thanks

Neither of them. Interest is an uncountable noun.

"David showed some interest and smiled at me"

I think ' interest ' can be a countable noun tooSmile [:)].

eg. I have many interests and reading is one of themSmile [:)]

The correct answers are:
"David shows interest and smiles at me."
and "David showed interest and smiled at me."
Countability is irrelevant.
