Troubleshoot is to repair something and bring back to its working condition. Pinpoint is to point out flows.

Interpol is an international agency.
FBI is a US investigative agency.
CIA is a US intelligence agency.
SWAT is a US anti-terrorism unit.

1) What are the differencers between troubleshoot and pinpoint?

You troubleshoot something that has a fault.

If you pinpoint something, you are identifying it in isolation from anything else.

I need to troubleshoot my computer to find the problem. Ok now I've found the problem I need to pinpoint the cause so that I can fix it.

2) What are the differences between these: Interpool, FBI, CIA,SWAT?

I can't answer in any detail other than to say Interpol is a European based agency, the others are American.

3) Is trash a countable noun?   --   No

Hi Belly,

When you troubleshoot you are looking for the source of a problem. When you pinpoint something (it's transitive and requires an object), you are locating it precisely.

Why don't you look up Interpol (note the spelling) and the other terms in Wikipedia first? Then ask specific questions after that. The FBI and CIA are both specific American agencies.

No, trash is not countable, but you do say "Take out the trash." (You don't say "There was a lot of trashes in the yard.")

By the way, I have joined these two threads. Please do NOT create two threads asking the same questions.

This is what I do for a living. Troubleshooting requires certain training, technical disciplines and scientific instrument to isolate the source and cause of problem in a machine.
Pinpointing may be used in a general sense referring to a location or a problem.
