Hi there, I have some grammar questions here. First of all, I am told by an editor that "some types of apples" is wrong, but "some types of apple" is the correct one,  this correct?

Secondly, I am being told that "which of the followings is the correct one" is wrong, and it should be "which of the following is the correct one". Is this correct? Thanks.

"Some types of apples" (countable noun) is correct.  Some types of gasoline (non-countable)....

"Which of the following" [no 's'] is correct.
