Hello everyone,

I have some words and phrases that I can't quite understand the meaning and need your help.

If anybody would know them and write some comments on them, it would be very appreciated.

Those phrases are belows.

1. When some is weeping, is it related to some sounds? If someone is crying with no sounds and just tears, can it still be described as weeping?

And how much of sorrowness is it involved with?

2. In the following sentences, I really don't get the meaning of the phrases underlined. Could you describe them in easier way for me if you would know them?

A fjord is a long, steep-sided coastal glacial valley that reaches the sea. Glacial valleys are formed when the movements of advancing glaciers incise deep U-shaped trenches into the earth. Advancing glaciers dislodge boulders, rock and gravel from valley walls and also sweep away sand and sediment producing a line of unconsolidated rocky debris known as a terminal moraine. Terminal moraines get wedged along the projection of the glacier and ultimately are deposited at the valley’s mouth, where they form a sill, or rise, that often takes the shape of the glacier. When the climate gets warmer, the melting glaciers retreat and inundate the valley with sea water.

3. Is the word 'businesses' in the following sentence more likely to mean a company or the work?

By the time the 17th century rolled in, printing had become specialized, and the structural organization of printing businesses became complex enough to require division of labor.

Thanks for all who would comment on them ~ ^^
