I had just recently posted for help w/ writing a letter to a judge but no one replied, so I gave it my best shot, and wish that someone will just proof-read this and let me know what else it may need.

My name is Samantha, and I am writing to you regarding my case. I was in ___________ on vacation recently visiting my cousins. On the 18^th day of January, I was arrested for retail theft in ______ Surf Shop located on __________ Ave. in ______ County. Words cannot explain my embarrassment and regret, and there is no excuse as to what I did. I want to apologize on behalf of _______ County, and the State of Florida for my actions. I have never violated the law and this will be my first and last time.

I did, however, receive my citation in the mail. It states that I must appear in court on Wednesday, February 7^th. Unfortunately, I am not able to appear at this time. I reside in NY and am a part-time worker and full-time student. I would like to request, if possible, to perhaps handle the case by mail. If I have any other options, please let me know.

I appreciate your time and consideration.

Hi,

I've tried to help with your English, but I know nothing about the legal aspect of this. I wonder if it is the judge him/herself or the clerk of his court that you should be writing to? Have you considered checking with a lawyer? It might be a good idea to spend a little money to do that.
