Hi everybody!
In Spanish, we have an expression to say that a song has affected you in such a way that you can't stop singing it: "Se me pegó la nueva canción de Radiohead"
How would you phrase that in English?
"The song caught on me?" "I caught the song?"
I know I could express the same meaning in othrt words, such as: "Radiohead's last song is really catchy, I can't help/stop singing it", but I'd like to have the meaning of these two sentences conveyed in only one phrase.
Any suggestions? Would "I picked up Radiohead's last song" do?
You can also say it to imply that you "caught" an expression / an accent / a word.
Another question: In the sentence "I caught the joyous mood of the festival", "caught" means "to become affected by or infused with", is it used in the same sense as in my example?
Thanks a lot!
Mara.
