I have heard that the Scottish English has some words which are not commonly used in other parts of the world. I am now staying in Scotland and it will be difficult for me to communicate unless I understand these words. Can you please provide a list of such words? [ for example aye (i'm not sure about the spelling..it sounds like eye) in stead of yes, we lasi = little girl ]

Hi Marvin,

I have an interview after 12 days which will be taken by Native Scottish People. If I come accross something like this I won't have any option other than speaking in my mother toungue. (Joking!!) I know that they will use English but some very common scottish words may be mentioned as a part of their daily habits. Do you think the words provided by Nona is sufficient or I should learn some more words?
