Hi Alison

The best place to start is the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists website:  www.rcslt.org - there should be a link through to the French equivalent professional body.  If not, please give them a call - I know they will be happy to help.

Let me know if I can help at all - I am an SLT.

Hi,

I am a Speech and Language therapy student in Scotland.  Does anyone know the employment opportunities for a native English speaker to work in France? and what recognised level of French they must obtain?

Kindest Regards,

Carolyn Green

Hi Naima, I realise your message is a year old! if you are still around I am sylvie and although I am French I studied SLT in the UK where I have many years of practice. I was interested in your message as it seemed to ask whether it is possible to be a bilingual SLT. I have not worked in France unfortunately but i have worked in Spain. i am interested in bilingualism and SLI (Specific Language Impairment). I would be very glad to chat with you.

Hello Caroline,

I've been searching from the net for Speech and Language theraphy as I want to change my study subject. I'm a bilingual person with Turkish and German, have a degree in Chinese and at the same time with my study I had also learnt some Italian. Obviously, I've a deep interest in different languages and want to built my future on this area. I really want to study Speech and Language therapy but I'm late to apply through UCAS and there're only 2 or 3 universities in London as far as I found which include this subject. I wonder if there're any chances to get a training placement or as a assistant so that I can get experiences and meanwhile that I can apply for the degree courses next term or year. I'd be really happy if you could give me some information.

Regards,

Jasmin
