Lois: But the fact that you showed up
on my doorstep... means somebody's ready
to spread good news. (To make her happy?) Does this house caII
mean we're coming out?

Grant: ActuaIIy, it means we're breaking up.
Today was just an exampIe
of why it's not a good idea... for us to be together
and work together. It's too compIicated.

Lois:And I didn't even drag you to aII the pIaces
I usuaIIy ruin a reIationship.
She hasn't showed him the places where she ends a relationship?

Grant: WeII, when you do decide
to take that trip (what trip?)... he's a Iucky guy.

Lois:Whoever he is, we sure as heII
aren't gonna work together.
So how are we gonna Iiquidate? (Proceed?) You'II take the eIevator
and I'II take the stairs?
Is she talking figuratively? And if so what's she mean?

Grant: Don't be ridicuIous, Lane. I'II take the stairs.

I don't think so.  Think of it in terms of the gay expression "coming out" vs. "in the closet."
"ready to spread good news"  =  "ready to make our relationship public."

Grant: ActuaIIy, it means we're breaking up.

Right.  (or taken him there)

Grant: WeII, when you do decide

The trip to one of the places where she usually ruins a relationship

Lois:Whoever he is, we sure as heII
aren't gonna work together.

I think "liquidate" means "to cash out our joint assets."  In this case I think it means to break up the relationship, and convert what's left of it "to cash." (figuratively)
Re the elevator, think of the old expression, "You go your way; I'll go mine."    (translates: "Let's break up.")

Grant: Don't be ridicuIous, Lane. I'II take the stairs.
