I am wondering the use of word 'standard'. I should write an email and use the word.

We have made every attempt to achieve the standards of 'Name of Journal'.

Standard = the required level (of the Journal).

Thanks!

Thanks Pieanne!

I read it through (with my "not so perfect" English) but unfortunately I didn't get the point. Is there a crucial different between the meaning of singular and plural..?

I guess that the better form is 'the standard of New York Post". Maybe?Smile [:)]

Hi, Maxis,
I personally think singular or plural is rather indifferent.
The "standard" would mean "the ultimate" standard, whereas
the "standards" would mean the different standards required...
