Hi everybody !!!

I am struggling with a letter I want to write to the Law Society. I need some information about the legal sector in England and I don't know how to start my letter.
Would it be correct to write :

" Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to enquire about information concerning the legal sector in England."

Another sentence I'm not sure about in my letter is the following : "Could you please tell me if my French diploma is recognised in England and if not, if there is a way to have it so ?"
Is the expression "to have it so" which avoids me to repeat "recognised" correct?

And a last question, is it possible to end such a letter by writing : "Thanking you in advance?"

I hope that you will be able to help me.

Thanks a lot

Hello guest.

The first sentence sounds a little off as you are not really 'enquiring about information'. you only need one or the other:
I am writing to enquire about the legal sector in England.
I am writing as I would like some information about the legal sector in England.

'to have it so' is not that clear. Try '...and if not, whether there is anything I can do to achieve recognition.'

You can say 'Thank you in advance' but this is not very formal.

Thank you very much for your quick answer! That's really great! It is so important I think to send a letter writen properly!
If "Thanking you in advance" is not formal enough, is there another way to say it, please?

Your forum is really helpfull!

-;- Thanking you in advance-A phrase generally used at the end of  letters in which a favor is asked. It borders closely on discourtesy, because the writer assumes that the reader will do as requested, and having done so there will be no thanks forthcoming. The thing to do is to express "appreciation" in advance, and thank after the favor has been granted.

Hello, I have a similar question.  How do you start a letter to an organization on which you don't know anybody?  Is it safe to start like this?

Hello, hope all well at the receiving of this message... then continue
