Hi,

these sentences appeared in a discussion. I have no idea, what is going on. If it is more clear for you, please share it with me. Thanks a lot. Locika

- If you're a home grown Texan, as you say, stop being a wuss.

and replay

- I usually try avoiding places where I might get into a "me or them" situation that's all. No wuss here...

Hi,

A 'wuss' is slang for a cowardly, weak, ineffectual person. It's not entirely a polite term. Don't say it to your grandmother, or to Queen Elizabeth, or in a job interview.

- If you're a home grown Texan, as you say, stop being a wuss. The meaining is that native-born texans are strong people.

and replay

- I usually try avoiding places where I might get into a "me or them" situation that's all.  A 'me or them' situation refers to a dangerous situation, where someone must lose (perhaps even their life).

No wuss here... I am not a weak coward.

Oh, thanks a lot Clive,

I was just about thinking in using it tomorrow as I am  organizing a tea party for Elisabeth and others to her 60th wedding anniversary in my castle here. Well, again thank you, I will not welcome her with this title.

Great explanation, it makes sense to me now.

kind regards

Locika
