Hi,
are you Italian by any chance? Here there's a new law now that says students are not allowed to use their cell phones in class. I don't know exactly what is allowed and what is not, but there's this new law here, anyway.

So should they be allowed or not? I think they should, and that law is just another stupid law of ours. It isn't a cell phone that makes you stupid or not willing to study, an it's isn't banning cell phones that will make you smarter or more willing to study.

In my opinion they should have the ability to take it to school. Using mobile phones at class should certainly not be allowed but to use it appropriate in break should be ok.

Not allowed to bring them to school or not allowed to play with them or just call while teacher is giving the lesson?

In Spain it is allowed to bring them but if your phone rings and interrupts the class, the teacher will take it away until June.

Personally I think that they shouldn't be banned in case of emergency:).

WOW, that's a long time. In my opinion that's a bit too long.

Well, I don't know exactly (I'm not in high school any more), but I think you can bring cell phones but you can't use them, students probably have to keep 'em turned off. I think it all started when some guys started to make videos with a cell phone during classes, and then they put 'em on Youtube, you know. The most famous video (it was on the news for almost a week and probably was the episode that brought to that law) was probably the one where some students filmed themselves while they kept touching their teacher's sexy "posterior". Yes, I know;). A friend did so few years ago but the teacher, I guess, doesn't know about it!:P
Do you know that I really wonder what happened to that teacher?

It's quite obvious that you can't use mobile phones while the teacher is trying to give the lesson, it would interrupt and distract the whole class if someone calls but what if you put it in silent mode? It wouldn't distract anyone, well, only the owner and the partner.Emotion: smile

In my opinion, mobilephones should be kept swiched off during classes -they're really annoying. My personal experience is that both teachers and students make a regardless use of them during the courses. Most of my classmates keep their vibrating phones on the desk or "hidden" in the pokets which is nonsense! On the other hand, teachers, the ones who should give the example in first place, recharge their phones' batteries in the school's sockets. Moreover they countinously look at them to check weather they've recived any sms or missed calls. Many argue that this is just a way to live the scholastic environment more freely, but I don't see it this way... I think it's more a self-respect matter.
