This store sells many kinds of stuffed animals.

Hi,

Is it necessary to specify "stuffed animals" by rewording it as "toys of stuffed animals?" Thanks.

Hi,

A stuffed animal is not necessarily a toy. However, the context would normally make clear whether you are speaking of taxidermy or of children.

It's not really confusing if you say 'My five-year-old always sleeps with a stuffed animal in her bed'.Smile

Best wishes, Clive

I agree ' toy stuffed animal' is the correct term that should be used. Because the previous one sounds kind of literal in sense and doesn't really say that is is a child's toy.

And I agree with Clive. It would be immediately clear whether you meant a toy or not. My children have dozens of stuffed animals, and never once have they, I, nor anyone they know felt the need to call them "toy stuffed animals."

A retail term for them, however, is "plush toys."

Just want to make sure I get the other  meaning of stuff animals correctly, a stuffed animal can also be a hunting game preserved for collection, right?

(After looking up taxidermy, I realized my question has been answered by Clive. Please ignore my post)
