Kill the "if" in "wish if", and you'll be fine!

Hi Paco,
so, I cannot say " I wish I went to London", but it is possible to say I wish I went to London every year; and I cannnot say " I wish I bought a car" but it is possible to say "I wish I bought a new car every five years.." Am I right?
Thank you all. :d
