English is abundant in synonyms compared to my own language, which dramatically addes a lot difficulty to my english learning. so it would be helpful for me to think of all possible synonyms of each new word i get to know.

specifically for the word "annex", i come up with "incorporate, include, integrate". but i'm disappointed to see in the online synonym dictionary that integrate is not in its long list of synonyms it provides.

so could someone tell me in which sense integrate can not serve as a synonym for annex.

thank u all.

Well, one instance in which "annex" and "integrate" are not synonyms is in a political context.  In politics, "integrate" usually means to desegregate; specifically, when people have been separated on the basis of race, sex, religion, ethnicity, et cetera.  "Annex", on the other hand, means to incorporate territory into an existing political divisions such as a country.
