Please, correct me if I am wrong:

Ben closed his eyes to think clearly for a moment.

Ben - is a subject; closed- is a predicate

It is a simple two-member complete extended sentence

'Ben' is definitely the subject, yes. 'closed' is the main predicator of the predicate 'closed his eyes...', yes.
