Hello everybody,

Does the phrase "take a chance", beside its meaning "to try luck", mean " use an opportunity to.." too , like for example :

" I'll take a chance to ask a few more questions"

Or it is correct to use "the" or "this" before "chance" and "opportunity" in the same sentence :

" I'll take this/the chance (this/the opportunity) to ask a few more questions. "

Thank you for the answer

I would say: I'll take my chances and ask a few more questions.

I'll take this opportunity and ask a few more questions.

No. "take a chance" can't be used like that.  It's "try (one's) luck at (-ing)" ~ "take a chance on (-ing)" or "take (one's) chances (-ing)".  "take a chance" is not the same as "take this opportunity".
