I took the flowers to her
can also exist
but it means
I moved/carried the flowers to her location/place

As a footnote:

"I took her some flowers" may well be the most common form.

Yeah, take her some flowers is the best form, whereas ' take flowers FOR her ' means help her take the flowers. So I don't think it is what you actually meant Smile [:)]
