Dear Teachers,

1. My parents tell me to always laugh and never take myself too seriously.

- "take myself too seriously" means "don''t get too serious", correct?

Thanks very much to Teachers,

Hi,

Basically, yes. It means you are overly serious about yourself.

You can also use the phrase in this way. 'My boss doesn't take me seriously'. This means he doesn't give serious and proper consideration to my comments and ideas. But he should.
