Hello everyone,
I have some problems in figuring out exact meaning of some words in the dialogue below.
I have guessed some but can't be sure about them so... if you have any idea about them, would you care to comment some?
Thanks a lot ~ ^ ^

The words I need to figure out the meanings of are 'take' in first line and 'The economy' in second line and eighth line.
My guess for 'take' is 'income' or 'any accomplishment in trying to get a job'.
As for 'The economy', my guesses are 'overall economical situation in the society' for the second line and 'attitudes to save money or frugality'
Here is the dialgue:

M: What is your take on the current job market?
W: It’s not very positive. The economy was great for a couple of years, but it looks like it’s about to take a nosedive.
M: That’s our assessment as well. We’re positive a number of companies are going to begin laying off workers relatively soon.
W: But that’s not the case for your firm.
M: Not at all. If it were, you and I wouldn’t be talking today. However, that means we can be picky about whom we choose to employ.
W: I suppose I’m up against some stiff competition.
M: Yes, that’s true, but we’re impressed with your qualifications. Depending upon how well you do today, we may call you in for a second round.
W: That’s exactly what I’m hoping for. Like I said earlier, I’m not confident in the economy, so I need to secure some employment really soon.
M: Going by your transcript and qualifications, I’d say you’ll be sure to do that. Now, why don’t I introduce you to some of the other people with whom you’ll be speaking today?
W: That sounds great to me.
