I've often heard my Thai and Chinese friends describing caucasian people as having "tall" noses. To them, I think it's not so much about the noses' size as much as it means a nose that has a more prominent bridge compared to the generally flatter Asian schnoz.

Yes, a nose is three-dimensional- as you mentioned, length, and depth. But you would not say he/she has a "deep nose", so if you're not refering to the length (bridge to tip) nor width (left to right) but rather how far it protrudes from the rest of the face, wouldn't you use "tall"?
Hi,

No.

We commonly say simply 'He has a big nose'. We usually don't bother to give a precise and detailed description of the nose's dimensions.

I think it's a term that's commonly used in Asia. Being an Asian myself (Filipino) our culture gives too much emphasis on "tall" noses compared to the commonly flatter Asian nose, as desirable traits on standard of beauty. The same with fair/white skin regarded as beautiful in contrast to darker "morena" skin. Of course this is just a cultural thing.

For tha lack of a correct term to use the word "tall" is the closest to convey the meaning of the local expression.
