Hi,

Please correct my sentences :

1/ A : What is your religion -B :  I'm a Catholic. OK. Or I'm Catholic. Or simply say Catholic.

2/ These workers are of grades 2/7 . What do you mean? Do you mean that some are in grade 2 and some in grade 7? Or that they are in grades that range from 2 to 7? What kind of 'grade' are you talking about? eg a pay grade? Or do you perhaps mean some kind of  'job classification' ?

Can I write grades 2/7 in words like this :: grades 2 out  of seven . Sounds wrong. Again, it depends on what this means.

/ A : What is your religion -B :  I'm a Catholic.

This is fine.  You could also reply "I'm Catholic."

These workers are of grades 2/7 .

Can I write grades 2/7 in words like this :: grades 2 out  of seven .

I'm sorry, but I really have no idea what you mean by this.  Could you try saying it a different way?

Thanks for your help .

When I say These workers are of grades 2/7 I mean the skill level

In my country a worker who has just started work for a company , he will be classified as grade 01 . After a period of time he will be raised to grade 02 , and then grade 03 , 04....and grade 07 is the highest grade .Just as in the army when you first join the army you will be classified as private , and after 01 or 02 years you will be raised to the rank of private first class and so on ......The salary received will be commensurate with the grade a worker is classified . The higher grade the higher salary.

Please help me write grade 2/7 in words .eg. grades 2 out  of seven  or something like that.

By the way , please tell me other ways of expressing this idea.

Thanks and Best regards

Hi,

Oh, I see.

You could say 'These workers are classified at grade two out of seven'.

Or 'There are seven grades. These workers are at grade two'.

It's still not clear to me.  Do mean mean that the workers you are referring to can be in any grade from 2 through 7?  You are including workers in all those grades?

If so, you can say:  These workers are in/from grades 2 through 7.

On the other hand if all the workers in question are in grade 2, and you wish to inform the reader that there are a total of 7 grades, you can say:  Within a system of 7 possible grades, these workers are in grade 2.

Hi,

If people don't already know, you might also want to make clear which way the grades progress.

eg There are seven grades, of which grade 7 is the highest. These workers are at/in grade two'.
