I have found that teaching legal english, as a former lawyer can be a very interesting and lucrative business. You can charge more than you might normally get as a teacher, but it is still a teaching job, which isn't lawyer's pay, for sure. Another thing is that lawyers are generally slow to trust and it does take time to develop a client base. As a lawyer/teacher you really need to start teaching and get your teaching chops down first. Lawyer's can be very demanding students so you should have your basic teaching experience out of the way. You need to be confident and certain of your teaching methods and then take on some lawyers, little by little. You will develop a very valuable teaching practice as there is a great demand out there, as the world gets more and more connected, through English.
If you have a second language, another very marketable product, once you have these students, is to help them with emails, letters, and contract translations.
