I know we say "TV station" for a "Program company" from where we get many programs on a particular channel.

Similarly what do we say for telephone company, from where we get a line to our home?

A "TV station" is the place from which programmes are broadcast. It will be owned and run by a TV company.

So far as I know, telephone companies supply the landlines to customers. In the UK this is BT [British Telecommunications].

Just for completeness: there are at least two telephone companies providing land lines in the UK. One is B.T. and the other is Kingston Telecommunications, which has exclusive rights for the area encompassing Kingston Upon Hull.

And the equivalent to a "TV station" would be a "Telephone Exchange", I guess.
