The young of a cat is a kitten. What is the young of a squirrel called? Is there a term for it?

I put "baby animal names" into google, found this:

They say it can be called a pup, kit, or kitten.

Hi,

Only a zoologist would say anything other than 'a baby squirrel'. Smile [:)]

Best wishes, Clive

<Only a zoologist ...>

Yes.  In my experience, the young of squirrels, mice, and rats are all called pups in scientific studies.
