Hi,

Can the word 'that' act as a conjunction (subordinate or otherwise) or a preposition? Show me please how they work.

Thank you.

.
That is a relative pronoun or a conjunction, not a preposition.

The hat that I bought is too big.
I wanted to tell him that I bought a hat.
